Gearcats, FRC team 6500, was established in 2016 at Millbrook High School as an offshoot of the school’s Mad Scientists Club in order to promote knowledge of emerging technologies and provide a forum for students with STEM skills which were not being stimulated by the curriculum.

This is our second year as a competing FRC team. We decided to split our team into five sub-teams: Electrical, Programming, Marketing, Game Strategy, and Mechanical. Electrical Team┬áhandles wiring and the actual “guts” of the robot. Programming takes care of all programming (of course). Marketing deals with all of the non-robot based tasks our team had to complete, such as creating and designing a team website, designing a banner and t-shirts, and managing social media pages. Game Strategy decides on drivers and final strategy for games. Mechanical deals with the designing of the robot and putting the robot together.
